Guild General Rules and Ranks

Mon Sep 17, 2007 3:26 am by Bekos

Hello to everybody,
Following are the general rules about the guild and the ranks explanation with promotions/demotions
system, not concerning raiding matters, that will be treated in another post.

Who wish to apply for an invitation to the guild, please read carefully this document, especially
the 4th point.

--------------------------

Table of Contents:

1. General
2. Ranks
3. About realm rules
4. Applying for a place in the guild

1. General:

Rage is a guild born from the ashes of Société la Résistance, where people have gathered together to have fun. As thus we expect our members to be mature, friendly and helpful, whenever they can.

Rage members are expected to treat the other players in and outside the guild with RESPECT. If there is an issue anytime, it should be forwarded to an “officer” (member of the Council) to try and solve it in the best possible way. Any form of argument should be solved outside of the guild chat.

Rage is a guild run by the Council. It has the final say in things, after procedures within the officer chat.
However, positive feedback is not only acceptable, it's requested by our members, since it's our primary goal to keep as many people as possible satisfied. If there is something troubling you, you can forward it to an “officer”, and he/she should treat it with the necessary attention. Guild-chat/ mail may be also used to express the opinions of members about the direction we are heading at, but it should be in a positive way. Positive questions lead to positive answers and actions.

Rage expects respect towards the guild itself. If any member should decide to leave the guild, should let an “officer” know first of all, so that we may see if we can change anything. If everything fails, we shall part in peace and wish for the best.

Rules are subject of changes during the time, to fulfill the needs of the guild. The Altered Advisor and the Enraged Master will provide communication of every change that will be reported in this document, with a different font color.

2. Ranks:

Rage guild ranks are as follow:

1. Pacifier
Main tasks and characteristics: Alt of other members (Upset+)
Guild control: -

2. Confused

* DKP management

Guild control: public notes, officer chat

8. Mad Counselor (9 max.)

9. Altered Advisor (1)
Main tasks and characteristics: Recruiting, Advising the Master

10. Enraged Master (unique)
Main tasks and characteristics: Raid Leader, Guild organization
Guild control: complete

Additionally, 2 groups of people are addressed, for raiding purposes, and for promotions/demotions:

* Raiders (rank 4 to 7): these are full members with rights to raid. Additionally, the highest rank in this group is required for minor guild management tasks (minor but fundamental).
* Council (rank 8 to 10): this group gathers every week, to decide upon the promotion of Confused (trial members). They also gather before any raid, to discuss about tactics and objectives. Voting can be used to solve any doubts between 2 choices; in that case, and the Council is formed by an even number of people, each vote counts 1, while the Master’s vote counts 2.

About Promotions and Demotions:

Promotions and demotions will typically happen ONCE per week (on Wednesdays). That means a person will not be promoted or demoted more than once per week. This is to avoid improper escalations of the ranks ladder. Anyway, special cases may happen that require an immediate decision by the Council, usually in cases of bad behavior of a member.

Promotions from Confused to Upset are decided by voting in the Council. The trial period lasts usually between 1 and 2 weeks. At most, the first Wednesday after 2 weeks passed the Council will decide upon the fate of the trial character.

A Promotion to rank 4 (Angered) means to be part of the Raiders group, that is to be able to participate to instance raids. You must be level 70 to reach this rank.

Promotions between rank 3 (Upset) and rank 6 (Enraged) of a char is proposed by the specific class leader to the Council, and it will be voted, considering how the person is acting in the regards of the guild, his/her skills and his/her will to do well.

Promotions between rank 3 (Upset) and rank 6 (Enraged) will be considered incrementally, while people proving their worth in other tasks may be promoted DIRECTLY to rank 7 (Unbridled Elite): this is to permit to have an helper for guild management in a short time when the guild needs it. In this case the promotion may be proposed by the Altered Advisor or the Enraged Master.

Promotions higher than rank 7 (Unbridled Elite) are to be considered a task of the Altered Advisor and Enraged Master only.

Demotions will happen when someone acts in a way not accepted by the Council: that can happen when the Council receives several remarks from members having troubles with a specific person, or when someone doesn’t respect the rules in this document. In any case, first he will be warned privately, trying to solve the problem, then demoted.

Demotions to the rank of Confused are to be seen as an invitation to leave the guild, even though there is still a chance to be promoted again, after a week.

Only in some exceptional cases someone may be kicked out of the guild, due to heavy lack of respect to the rules or to the members of the guild. Being kicked out has no turning back.

About hierarchy:

If a guild member feels he/she has an issue they wish to discuss with the guild officers (the Council) they have to whisper to their specific class leader, who may in turn require the assistance of the Altered Advisor or the Enraged Master. In case the class leader is absent, it’s possible to address the Altered Advisor; if he is absent too, contact the Enraged Master, preferably by ingame mail if it’s not an urgent matter. Unrespecting this hierarchy may lead to demotion !

Examples of things that members could mail, not whisper:
- If they are wondering why some rule is made in the guild
- If they are not satisfied by how some fellow guild mate is acting
- If they do not think an officer has treated them fairly
- If they think something that was done during a raid/ instance was unfair.

3. About realm rules:

Everybody in the guild is expected to follow the realm (Defias Brotherhood) rules, that is RP-PVP rules. While RP is not required inside the guild to be a member, respecting the rules while interacting with the people outside of the guild is not only encouraged, but REQUIRED !

Any other incorrect behavior held by a member (like battleground honor leeching, ganking lower level horde players without any reason, and so on) is prohibited. Rage members should fight with honor against the opposite faction, and maintain a respectful behavior with everybody, allies and enemies.
World PVP events like attacking a horde town can't and will not be considered as ganking, as long as its main purpose is not to kill low level hordes.

When a member breaks any of these realm or guild rules, he will receive a warning. After 3 warnings he will be invited to leave the guild.

4. Applying for a place in the guild:

Who wish to apply should have the following prerequisites:

* be aware of the consequences of not respecting our rules and agree with them;
* be on level 58+ with their char (there might be cases of invitation of lower levels, but the proposal shall only come from the Altered Advisor and the Enraged Master, not by application).

Meeting the requirements, you can apply for a place in the guild by using the example form in the Recruitment section of this forum by Bekos.

P.S. : I'd like to thank Lauriej, in the person of Marlie. Without her nothing would have been possible here.
